Evolving Structure of Mexican Drug Cartels - 1494 Words

A businessman, and a business woman sit across from each other in negotiations. The man proposes four thousand pesos, and the woman says she cant afford that much. She counter-offers with twenty-five hundred pesos. The man agrees and leaves. This was a weekly payment for the protection of the womans local business against the Juarez Cartel. (Lacey, M. 2010). Many critics are now making comparisons between the Mexican drug cartels, like the one mentioned above, and legitimate corporations like Netflix, or Google. There are currently seven major Mexican drug cartels. The Gulf Cartel was the first to recruit Mexican Special Forces to act as a military wing to: enforce receipt of payments, protect from other cartels, and carry out well organized assassinations of members from rival gangs or cartels. This Special Forces group was known as the Zetas. The Gulf Cartels vision to bring a group of highly trained gunmen into the drug game would forever have an impact on the drug cartels in Mexico (Beith, M. (2013, September 24)). The Gulf Cartel has a intricate reach into the United States through: supply lines, smuggling routes, and communication lines all maintained by lower level leadership in the cartel to ensure products reach their destination and that the money is returned to Mexico. In recent years, The Gulf Cartel has been plagued with several issues including; many high level arrests and the split between the Gulf Cartel and their protection wing, the Zetas. They have been losing leadership and fighting a territorial war with the Zetas, who are heavily invested in the same areas as the Gulf Cartel. The Zeta group exemplifies diversity. Face-to-Face Versus Online Education - 972 Words

Jeffrey McGurren Com. 103 March 4, 2004 Research Paper 1 Face-to-Face Versus Online Education Education is essential to the future of our society. Many adults, including scholars and teachers, are constantly searching for the best way to educate students today. Face-to-face education, being the genuine form, seems to be the first choice of many students. However, online education is becoming more popular and is being used more often at universities. Online courses are convenient for some who have busy schedules which obstruct them from attending face-to-face courses. Online education may be the most convenient form of education, but is it an effective form? Several valid arguments have been made by scholars and other individuals†¦show more content†¦Since times and meeting places are not specified in online group work, members of the group cannot make excuses on why they cannot attend. The assignments can be worked on by each group member on their own time. The group members can then cooperate with one another through postings or e-mail to equally combine their contr ibutions. We don t have to worry about the group members who did not participate receiving credit (as commonly happens in in-class group work) because we submit only the names of those who participated in the assignment. Having experienced both online and face-to-face education, I have come to the popular opinion: Online education has its positive aspects in relation to convenience and quantity of communication, however, I believe that face-to-face education produces better quality of communication which, in the end, is more essential to the learning process. Online education is convenient and can grant students opportunity to communicate more often with their professors and peers through postings and mail forums. Face-to-face education allows students to learn in a more personal nature which may make the learning process easier and more enjoyable. Customer Service and Relationship Management

Question: Discuss about the Customer Service and Relationship Management. Answer: Introduction Customers play significant role in a business. They are the heart of the business, on which the profit of the organization depends upon. Customer uses the product and service of the company and they judge the quality. Hence, it is important for the organization to retain the customers and attract new consumers to flourish the business (Gulati, 2013). Therefore, organization tries to improve its quality of customer service. The customer service ensures customer satisfaction with a particular product or service offered by the firm. Argument Customer service varies according to the type of the business and according to their needs. Customers can be individual people or another business. Therefore, customer services must be different in case of Business-to-Consumers and Business-to- Business. Each customer is valuable to the organization. Therefore, a company takes care of customers individually in a B2C case. Customers need is immediate and they look for a product to meet specific need of their life. In this case, there are many leads (prospective consumers) (Strategy, 2015). It is important for the business to quickly rank the customers and put effort on the potential customers. The customer support or sales team can approach to the customers at first if they know the immediate need of the consumers. The customer service of this business unit must identify the motivation behind the decision of buying, as B2C purchase might be logical or entirely impulsive. In contrast, customers of B2B requires product or solution for e ntire division or company. The buying period is longer and not immediate. This kind of business requires highly individualized customer service. In this case, the short term and long term needs of each division and all relevant personnel has to be identified. In this kind of business, the company deal with multiple decision makers and the customer service incorporates managing contacts of the people who are responsible for purchase decision. The customer service in a B2B framework, requires developing relationship with each business division, as the customers are engaging huge amount on product. The customer service in the case of B2B focuses on long term goals rather than short term goal of selling the product only (Hutt Speh, 2012). The theory of customers satisfaction is based on identifying and satisfying the needs of the customers. The company can be committed in delivering consistent services to gain customer loyalty (Martinez del Bosque, 2013). The needs of the customers are identified because; the needs are different and the company should modify its services according to their needs. The services are different in different industry because the products are different in different businesses. Product that has search qualities, can be determined by customers before purchasing. For example, clothing, automobile; jewellery etc. Customer services of these business are mostly associated with after sales services. Product with experience qualities can be determined only after purchase or during the consumption (Oliver, 2014). For example, vacation package (tourism); restaurant industry etc. Customer service associated with these kind of business is very crucial as the success of this kind of business is mostly d epends on the customers satisfaction level. Products with credence qualities are very hard to evaluate even after purchase due to lack of customer knowledge. According to the Two-Factor theory, customer service must incorporate motivation factors and hygiene factors to maintain the satisfaction level of the consumers. Absence of hygiene element leads to customer dissatisfaction, however, presence of this factor does not contribute to customer satisfaction. Hygiene factors are necessary but not sufficient for customer satisfaction. Presence of motivation factors contributes positively on the customer satisfaction. These factors exceed the customers expectation. The more is the motivational factor; the more is the quality of service that exceed expectations. Therefore, based on the expectations and needs of the customers the quality of services differs. The hygiene factor and the motivational factor are different in different businesses because of the different requirement of the customers of that industry (Lo, Lin Hsu, 2016). Customer service is important in the retail business; manufacturing business; hospitality and tourism business; financial business and in all kind of other businesses. The product or services offered by industry is different from each other. The customers needs are also different in respective sector (Yoo Bai, 2013). The business specific needs and corresponding technical requirements are also different. For example, in the financial sector, customers pursue informative financial advice as a part of the customer service. The financial company has to offer new products and offers in order to promote the business. The customers needs include safe interaction with the financial advisor through several channels. In the retail sector, the companies diversify their strategy to ensure customers satisfaction. The customer service of this type of business incorporates proper communication with the customers to understand their needs (Prahalad Ramaswamy, 2013). At present, customer service h as been diversified through online stores; social media and mobile apps. By offering needful products, the retail companies want to improve their customers loyalty. They also focus on the after-sales services. Another important business where customer services are of major importance, is the hospitality and tourism industry. Understanding the customer services of hospitality and tourism industry is crucial for the customer service management. The customer service of this in industry needs to be personalized and diversified. It has to be more efficient. The employees of this industry must have proper training to serve the customers. The service at a hotel or restaurant must facilitates the guests with high quality service (Lovelock Patterson, 2015). The employees must have manners etiquette. There are many departments in a hotel or tourism industry, therefore, there should be proper integration between the departments. Good coordination between the staffs and department can improve the service quality. Therefore, it can be said that customer service is different at different industry and due to different customer needs (Shaw, 2016). It can be seen from the given video link of a TV Show Faulty Tower, one customer has faced trouble at the reception of a hotel. By identifying the faults in the customer service of the hotel, the quality service can be discussed. There should be sufficient employees at the reception of a busy hotel. This will shorten the que at the reception. However, even if the employees are employed, the management must ensure that they are performing their duty properly and not escaping their duties in working hours. If there were more than one receptionist in the counter, then he or she could have managed other customers. In addition to this, the service provider must be trained with proper etiquette. No matter how the customer is behaving, they must behave in a proper manner. The customer handling staffs must have patience to tackle different of the customers. The staffs of this kind of industry must have the skill to tackle odd or unwanted scenario while its customer is impolite. They must hav e the capability to convince the customers (Thompson, 2014). Customers are not same; they have different characteristics. Some can compromise and wait, while some are too impatient to wait. Therefore, based on the need of the customers and their urgency, the situation should be handled to provide quality service to all kind of customers. Sometimes, services are provided on the first-come-first-serve basis. However, sometime service should be provided on the priority basis. This would increase the satisfaction level of the customers. However, in other businesses, service is provided on the first-come-first-serve basis, unlike the hospitality and tourism industry. This indicates that customer service might be different according to the needs of the customers in different industry. Regardless of the accuracy and speed of the service, it must be kept in mind that satisfaction level individual customers are to be taken care off. Another important aspect of the quality service depends on communication skill of the employees. Employees must have proper communication skill to interact with the customers (Claycomb Martin, 2013). Improper communication method may lead to miscommunication and misunderstanding. Misunderstanding may hamper the reputation of the business. The customer handling managers must be clear about their action and they must make the customer understand the actions, so that no miscommunication arises (Dinnen Hassanien, 2013). The staffs must be fluent in the languages spoken by the customers. If the majority customers are of English speaking, then the staffs must be able to communicate in fluent English. Otherwise, misunderstanding may lead to huge dissatisfaction of the customers. However, in an industry like hotel and tourism, there can be customers with non-English speaking background. In such case, depending on the trends of the customers, there must be some staffs who can speak in those languages. Hence, proper communication enhances the quali ty of the services (Eid, 2013). Conclusion From the above discussion, it can be concluded that customer service differs depending on the type of business and the needs of the customer. This is because, the business activities are different in a B2B and B2C framework. Different businesses have different functioning and customers need is also different. Moreover, the products are also different to be evaluated and hygiene and motivation factors are different in different businesses. Therefore, customer service varies over the businesses. It has been found that the quality services of a business are sufficient manpower to handle customers; manners and etiquette of the staffs; ability to make decision on prioritizing service and proper communication skill. These quality service are different in the different sectors. References Claycomb, C., Martin, C. L. (2013). The Comic Journey of Twelfth Night Is Usually from the Darkness of Ignorance to the Light of Self Knowledge. Discuss This Journey in Twelfth Night free essay sample

Discuss this journey in Twelfth Night. The play, Twelfth Night, was written as a comedy, however, one can clearly see that it served many purposes such as criticizing the society of the time and as a result posed difficult questions on a society which in itself was ignorant on many issues in the society. Many characters undergo a change from ignorance to being enlightened by self knowledge. The characters start a journey from being uninformed or lacking knowledge to an instance where the mental states of the character and thus their beliefs, desires or sensations have been affected. In Twelfth night thus we look at the comedy and significance of this transition from where the characters are uninformed of certain events to where they are enlightened and either the character or world is transformed. Ignorance first arises at the start of the play. This occurs when Viola decides to dress as a man and serve count Orsino, â€Å" I’ll serve this duke; Thou shalt present me as an eunuch to him- ( 1, 2, 55-56)†. We will write a custom essay sample on The Comic Journey of Twelfth Night Is Usually from the Darkness of Ignorance to the Light of Self Knowledge. Discuss This Journey in Twelfth Night or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page This creates humor as she will appear to Orsino as a eunuch: someone who is employed in a role of secrecy, but she herself keeps her gender a secret. She does this as she is ignorant as to what her position is within Illyria and hides herself in order to deduce her role in this new and strange world. She then achieves self knowledge as she realizes that she is in love with Orsino and wants to marry him, â€Å" I’ll do my best To woo your lady. Yet, a barful strife! Whoe’er I woo, myself would be his wife ( 1, 4, 41-43)†. A comic instance is thus expressed as her means of survival in the society becomes the desire of her love. This shows she has reached self knowledge as she has fallen in love and thus her desires change her world . This is not possible at first as she herself, being a woman, cannot confirm her status and as a result she continues to conceal her true identity until she finds Sebastian. At this point she is able to show her true identity and thus her self knowledge becomes her reality as she is able to reveal her true self and profess her love to the count, â€Å" And all those sayings will I over-swear, And all those swearing keep as true in soul†¦ ( 5, 1, 260-261)†. The simile â€Å" keep as true† stresses the fact that she confirms the true nature of her love to Orsino. The fact that she conceals herself past the point where she has realized her desires is the sole reason for all further events to downplay. This allows the world to be transformed as only with the presence of Sebastian can she herself show her true appearance in gender as well as in status and can be accepted as Orsino’s lover. This in effect is Shakespeare showing social commentary due to the fact that Viola is unable to show her true identity and be accepted in the society until man confirms this. This comic instance shows the stupidity of gender inequality as Viola and Sebastian are of the same status but only with her male counterpart can she reveal a disguise which has caused much chaos and confusion throughout the play. In the case of Orsino we may observe a typical scenario where a man falls in love with a beautiful woman and is ignorant to the truth that she does not love him, â€Å"How she will love, when the rich golden shaft Hath kill’d the flock of all affections else ( 1, 1, 35-36)†. This shows us Orsino believes she will love him even though she blatantly states she is not interested in such a relationship with the count as the shaft symbolizes cupids arrow which would make her fall in love. This is humorous as he believes her rejection only shows her large capacity for love as he feels she only rejects his affections as she is in excess of mourning and this intices him to feel more strongly towards her rather than to believe the truth. This comic nature of his love is stereotypical of a man and his infatuations with a woman. The humor is then expressed to the audience as dramatic irony as his servant becomes the object of Olivia’s affections. The situation is then further complicated as his own feelings of friendship immediately turn to romance when he is enlightened that his servant is a woman and he moves to self knowledge in the fact that his own sensations and desires are changed, â€Å" Here is my hand; you shall from this time be your master’s mistress ( 5, 1, 313-314)†. This instance is where Orsino confirms his love for Viola and the alliteration in the m sound at the end of his line stresses the contradiction and importance in the occurrence. This enlightenment is comic in the fact that Viola is fired from Orsino’s service only for her to be accepted as a servant of love to the count as lovers may be seen to be servants to their spousal partners. His love of Viola, therefore, allows him to accept that Olivia will never love him and has in fact chosen another suitor and has married Sebastian. This is also a point of self knowledge for the count as he accepts the situation and his feelings of romantic love towards Olivia changes to sibling love, â€Å"To think me as well a sister as a wife ( 5, 1, 305)†. Orsino accepts this statement made by Olivia and this adds comedy to the play as it hints at jest towards incest. At the time incest was not considered noble, however, did occur and in the case of Olivia and Orsino it is true. Since Olivia unknowingly marries both Cessario and Sebastian and Orsino decides Viola will be his mistress, as a result the become romantically linked as well as becoming brother and sister in law. Shakespeare uses Orsino’s love for Olivia to criticize the fact that men often lust after woman rather than showing true love for them. He thus also shows the audience the fact that he feels love is rather through friendship and interaction rather than infatuation towards ones love. In the end we can clearly see that there is ignorance throughout the play due to the themes of appearance vs. reality such as the disguise of Viola and the social system of the time for example that woman were perceived as less important than men ( Viola needing a man to confirm she is of nobility). Self enlightenment is thus only reached when these barriers are broken and truths can be revealed. This brings realities and self knowledge to characters and as a result they change the world around them. The journey this takes in Twelfth Night becomes comic as chaos and confusion created as a result of ignorance invokes misconception in the characters and creates an atmosphere of dramatic irony and humor to downplay. Through the use of comedy Shakespeare thus poses hidden messages and questions upon the society and as a result effectively shows the faults of the society and its people.
